What is frankincense myrrhe ?

myrrhe (Commiphora Myrrha)Commonly referred to as Myrrha, this aromatic bitter gum resin comes from various trees within the Commiphora Family, particularly in East Africa and Arabia. Myrrha was used in ancient days as an ingredient in incense and perfumes. It is also well known as a topical stimulant and disinfectant, and it possesses anti-inflammatory properties.

Myrrha, also known as Guggulipid, is used for arthritis, lowering high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, nodulocystic acne, skin diseases and weight loss.

Guggul is the extract of the gum resin of the Commiphora mukul tree, which is native to India. Guggulsterones can inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, may have an antioxidant effect on lipids and may have thyroid-stimulating activity. Preliminary evidence suggests that it has protective effects against drug-induced myocardial necrosis.
